"An extraordinary collection of true life stories from India"

"It was a full-moon night. The cicadas had gone to sleep, as had the big and little beasts that had been chattering and baying at the dusk. Through an eerie silence, Manu walked in the woods, spotting on the jungle path the milky silver moonlight drops filtering through the treetops: the magical cosmos of a silver-glazed forest. Even through the silence, he sensed how alive the dark was, however alone he appeared to be."

In this much-acclaimed collection of real-life stories of nine unknown men and a woman, Joshua Newton reveals deep truths
about the Indian ways of living.

"Josh is an amazing storyteller who creates
visionary fiction and non-fiction with such ease!"

A delicate and poignant story of friendships and shadows.

Widely acclaimed as the 'coming-of-age' of Malayalam cinema, Ritu remains the quintessential poster child of the industry's new wave. Even years after its release—and amidst an avalanche of contemporary films—critics continue to praise its sensitive, melancholic portrayal of the tumultuous emotions ravaging three young minds at the pinnacle of success. It is an engrossing, intricate slice-of-life that deftly captures the nuances of growing up together and,
ultimately, growing apart.

"..the star of the film is most definitely the script, which builds the characters and plays with the emotions and internal conflicts."

Meet Joshua Newton

1. What do you write mostly?

Delightful non-fiction that doesn't shout. Portrait profiles, ghostwriting, narrative exploration, travel pieces, magazine features, white papers.. If something needs to be explained clearly, I think I’m useful.

2. Who do you write for?

For editors who want clean copy on time, for founders who want their story written without theatrics, and for readers who need clarity rather than buzz and fog. I work well with people who value good prose.

3. What’s your style?

I'm quiet amused by human behaviour. We are taking too many things for granted about ourselves. We need more open enquiries. We don't need to look smart. Rather, we need to look smartly at life. I try to leave the reader deeper and smarter. That's my style.

4. What areas interest you most?

Education, wellness & mental healthcare, social sector, public policy, think tanks, urban development & city studies, sustainability & clean energy, art & culture, literature & publishing, NGOs, community development, tech, media, travel & hospitality, small-businesses, founder-led firms...

5. How can I contact you?

Reach me at josh@earthopia.co. Happy to reply promptly.
